Wayne Farms announced J. Clinton Rivers becomes its CEO effective April 1, replacing Elton Maddox who led the company as CEO for 21 years and will now assume the role of executive chairman and continue to serve as chairman of the Wayne Farms board of managers.
The transition is part of a planned succession that began with Rivers’ promotion to chief operating officer in April 2014.
Washington, D.C. - January 25, 2017 - Americans’ consumption of the unofficial staple of Super Bowl Sunday – the chicken wing – is projected to hit 1.33 billion wings, according to a National Chicken Council (NCC) annual report.
NCC’s 2017 Wing Report, released today, estimates that Americans will eat 1.33 billion wings during Super Bowl LI weekend, as the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots battle for the Lombardi Trophy. That figure is up 2 percent, or 30 million wings, from 2016's report – and up 6.5 percent, or 80 million wings, from 2015's report – revealing a steadily growing love for America’s favorite Super Bowl menu item.

A research team at the University of Minnesota (UM), College of Veterinary Medicine recently published on studies conducted to determine the extent of dissemination of avian influenza virus from infected flocks.*
SPRINGDALE (Jan. 17, 2017) – Whitbeck Laboratories, Inc., a full-service independent commercial laboratory offering a unique mix of microbiology, chemistry and serology testing to an international clientele, will celebrate its new 7,500 square foot research and testing facility with a Grand Opening Wednesday, January 18. The new facility is located in the Springdale Technology Park.
Garner, N.C.-based Butterball has promoted Jay Jandrain to chief operating officer, following the retirement of Joe Nalley, who led the company’s operations for 10 years. The company also announced Al Jansen has been promoted to executive vice president of sales, Jandrain’s prior role.
Former State Senator, Neely Cassady of Nashville, AR. will be one of five inductees into the Arkansas Agriculture Hall of Fame. Cassady operated a hatchery for many years, establishing an integration which eventually was incorporated into Tyson Foods. He served for 14 years in the Arkansas State Senate and is a past president of the Arkansas Poultry Federation and was a member of the Board of Directors of Tyson Foods.
