Injuries and Illnesses in Poultry Processing at New All-Time Low

Washington, D.C.– The incidence of occupational injuries and illnesses within the poultry sector’s slaughter and processing workforce has fallen by 84 percent over the last 25 years and continues to decline according to the 2018 Injury and Illness Report recently released by the Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

UA Part of $10 Million Grant Program Promoting Less Water Use, Poultry Education

The University of Arkansas research and extension was chosen to work with Cornell University on efforts to increase sustainability in poultry production from water savings to better bird nutrition and enhance education for careers in the poultry industry. A $9.95 million federal grant will fund the research.
