TPF signed on to a letter of support from the National Turkey Federation that included 65 major animal agriculture groups, animal science organizations and veterinarians. The group supports the creation of the Animal Disease and Disaster Prevention Program in the 2018 Farm.
"This Animal Disease and Disaster Prevention Program is an ideal approach, pulling together a successful partnership," said Marvin Childers, President of the State Poultry Association Executives and TPF. "This would create a reliable and efficient plan, targeting state and regional coordination of resources protecting animal health and producer livelihood."
The letter has officially been sent to the House and Senate Ag Committee leadership, and NTF also released a statement to the press on this issue.
