The Poultry Federation Supports President Trump’s Executive Order to Keep Meat and Poultry Plants Open

Little Rock, AR – In response to President Trump's Executive Order to keep meat and poultry plants operating during this national crisis, The Poultry Federation (TPF) President Marvin Childers issued the following statement:

“Our member companies are thankful that President Trump recognizes the necessity to ensure an adequate supply of meat and poultry. Our member companies’ main focus is the health and safety of our workforce balanced with the responsibility to provide safe, sustainable, quality and affordable food.”

Members of TPF are taking additional measures to protect their team members, by adhering to CDC, OSHA and USDA guidelines.

“Keeping our plants open is vital for the farmers who grow our birds and any disruption will cause a severe domino effect throughout the entire food supply-chain.”

“The growers, live production and processing plant team members are all critical and their health and safety is our number one priority. We are thankful for this decision to protect our country’s food supply during this pandemic. Our food supply chain is strong and we continue to work together to keep our nation fed and our farmers and team members safe and healthy.”
