The Poultry Federation (TPF) awarded $182,000 in scholarships for the 2022-2023 academic year to 17 graduate and 19 undergraduate students majoring in poultry related studies at Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma universities.
TPF’s scholarship program was created to provide financial assistance to students in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma enrolled in an accredited two or four-year post-secondary institution pursuing a degree that may lead them to a career in the poultry and egg industry. Through the support from the Federation’s allied and poultry members almost 2 million dollars has been raised in the past twelve years.
The Federation’s scholarship program is funded by the Arkansas Nutrition Conference and the Allied Industries Scholarship Auction. Since 2010, the Allied Industries Scholarship Auction and the Arkansas Nutrition Conference has awarded a total of $1,369,016 to students pursuing a career in the poultry and egg industry. Over the past twelve years, a total of 380 students have been awarded a scholarship through the Allied Industries Scholarship Fund and Nutrition Scholarship Fund.
The Poultry Federation Scholarship Program is coordinated through a partnership with the Arkansas Community Foundation (ARCF). The scholarship recipients are selected in a collaborative effort by The Poultry Federation scholarship committee and ARCF using established scoring guidelines.
“The Poultry Federation Scholarship Program is part of our mission to support the youth that are destined to be the future leaders in the poultry and egg industry,” stated Marvin Childers, President of The Poultry Federation.
