OK Foods Inc. of Fort Smith, a subsidiary of Industrias Bachoco of Guanajuato, Mexico, on Tuesday announced the promotion of Randy Meyers to chief operating officer, a newly-created position that follows two acquisitions the company has made over the last 18 months.
Last week, OK Foods bought Albertville Quality Foods of Albertville, Alabama.
The company also began operating a fully-cooked chicken product plant in Oklahoma City in February 2016. The plant, formerly owned by American Foods Group, is capable of producing 700,000 pounds per week.
Meyers, who had been senior vice president of sales and marketing, brings more than 25 years of industry experience to his new role.
"Randy brings the industry experience and proven sales performance we need within our growing company," OK Foods CEO R. Trent Goins said in a news release. "He fits the mold of our sales-driven company and knows that our transparency, communication and teamwork with both our employees and our customers are what sets us apart from other producers."
Meyers joined OK Foods in July 2014. The company will conduct a national search in the coming months to fill his previous position.
