Thursday, November 18th, members and supporters of Missouri’s agriculture community gathered together for the 49th Annual Missouri Governor’s Conference on Ag.
The event included several topics such as ag policy, economic outlooks, farm succession plans, and a commodity panel discussion. Missouri Director of Agriculture Chris Chin said it is vital that the state’s ag leaders have the chance to meet with producers directly at these events.
Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft said in a press release: “Agriculture is the backbone of our state; exemplifies fundamental virtues such as determination, hard work, innovation; builds character and self-esteem and promotes family values. “
According to the USDA National Ag Statistics Service, Missouri currently ranks 9th in broiler production and 16th in turkey production nationally.
