U.S. Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY) has released a second video in a series on companies with exemplary performance at water reclamation facilities, spotlighting Tyson Foods’ Russellville, Ark., operation. The facility is a USPOULTRY Clean Water Award winner, recognized in the pretreatment category. The Russellville further processing facility treats an average of 200,000 gallons of water per day. It has installed a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system to more efficiently monitor and operate dissolve air flotation (DAF) units, flow meters, tanks, pumps and other equipment remotely.

To save energy, the facility manages the operation of tank aerators to ensure they are not running simultaneously. The facility continuously reviews operations to expand its reuse of treated wastewater. Team members can participate in training courses from universities and other groups to further employee knowledge and gain further wastewater treatment certification. The video can be viewed on USPOULTRY’s YouTube Channel here.
