Little Rock, AR – The Poultry Federation (TPF) was proud to sponsor the 2019 State 4-H Poultry Day in Columbia, MO on Saturday, June 8th. This event was held at the University of Missouri Animal Science Research Center with 70 4-H youth and adult participants on-site.
State 4-H Poultry Day activities included educational sessions, workshops, and contests. 4-H youth participated in contests such as Poultry Judging, Avian Quiz Bowl, Photo Contest, and Dozen Egg Contest.
4-Her’s are given the opportunity to develop skills in grading eggs and poultry carcasses, identifying poultry cuts, and selection of quality live poultry while attending State 4-H Poultry Day.
TPF sponsored the winning Sr. teams of the Poultry Judging Competition and Avian Quiz Bowl to attend the national competition at the 2019 National Poultry and Egg Conference in Louisville, KY in November 2019.
The top 3 overall senior judging competitors were Avonlea Bergthold, Webster County, (1st place), Kinzee Clark, Webster County, (2nd place), and Kalaa Clark, Webster County, (3rd place.) The top senior team in the Avian Quiz Bowl were Avonlea Bergthold, Kalaa Clark, and Kinzee Clark, all of Webster County.
