Over 46,876 LED bulbs have been purchased by growers as a result of the program. This amounts to roughly 13, 078,404 kilowatt hours of annual energy savings. More importantly it will save Arkansas growers over $1.1 million annually.
All rebate applications must be postmarked by March 31st. There is currently $319,226 remaining. Growers and producers can keep up with the remaining amount at http://ar.state-rebate.com/poultry.
Previously in July of 2011, the Arkansas Energy Office, a division of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, announced that cash rebates will be given directly to broiler poultry growers following their purchase of LED lighting.
The rebate will amount to 50 percent of the bulb cost. Funds for the program total $1.2 million and will be provided by the U.S. Department of Energy through the Arkansas Recovery and Reinvestment Act and will be administered through the Arkansas Energy Office.
The rebates are on a first come, first serve basis.
Program information and application packets have been mailed out to Arkansas broiler farms. Program information is also available at http://ar.state-rebate.com/poultry/.
