Lincoln Announces Funding to Promote Energy Savings and Job Creation for Arkansas Rural Communities

U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, will announce nearly $1 million in grant funding from the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Energy for America Program. These funds will support  projects that range from solar panel installation, poultry house weatherization to energy efficient irrigation systems. The grant funds will leverage over $4 million in project funding and in turn will fuel local economies and create jobs in Arkansas.

Monday, August 9th at 11:00 a.m.
Pauline Whitaker Animal Science Center
1335 W. Knapp (across the street from Agri-Park)
Fayetteville, Arkansas

“As Chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee, I am pleased that so many Arkansas producers are taking advantage of Farm Bill programs. In just one year we have more than tripled Rural Energy for America Program grant funds to our state allowing Arkansas farmers and rural small businesses to lower their energy cost while creating jobs and investing millions of dollars of projects in local economies.” -- Senator Blanche Lincoln, Chairman

Please consider this as your invitation from Senator Blanche Lincoln to attend the event with local producers and small businesses celebrating the success of the Rural Energy for America Program.  Senator Lincoln hopes that you can join her for this event. Please contact Karla Thieman at 202-224-5931 or Karla_Thieman@agriculture.senate.gov if you have any questions.
