The Poultry Federation announces plans for the 2010 Arkansas Nutrition Conference scheduled for September 7-9 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Rogers, Arkansas.  The annual educational event is co-sponsored by the Feed Manufacturers Committee of The Poultry Federation and the University of Arkansas.  This year’s technical symposium sponsor is Alltech.  Proceeds from this conference are designated for scholarship support.  International and domestic industry speakers, all experts in their field are scheduled to speak at the conference.  Keynote speaker this year is Jeff Simmons, President, Elanco Animal Health, whose topic is entitled:  Technology + Choice:  The Keys to Enabling Abundant, Affordable and Safe Food for Our Growing Global Population.  This conference qualifies for 12 CEUs for members of American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists (ARPAS).  Sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday conclude with a speakers’ roundtable discussion and Thursday’s session ends with an open golf tournament.

“The conference committee is focused on bringing in technical experts to address current topics and concerns in poultry nutrition,” stated Philip Maynard, nutritionist at Tyson Foods and this year’s conference chairman.  “Our goal is to help advance poultry production by providing a forum to share new concepts and ideas in poultry nutrition.”

Advance conference registration is $100 (if received before 08/27/10) and on-site registration is $125.  Registration is complimentary for university faculty and students.  Participants are asked to register on-line.  Registration includes all meetings, associated meals and one electronic copy of the proceedings. 

Nutrition Open Golf Tournament will be held at Valley View Golf Course in Fayetteville.  Golf event and associated meal are not included in conference registration fee.   Advance golf registration is $60 (if received before 08/27/10) and on-site golf registration is $75.  Golf registration is limited. 

Hotel arrangements should be made directly with Embassy Suites NWA at 479-254-8400 or at www.embassysuites.com before August 20 to obtain the group rate of $119.00.  The group/convention rate is “NC1.”
