Kevin McDaniel of O.K. Farms, Inc. was named “2010 Industry Leader of the Year” by The Poultry Federation of Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma, on June 11th at the association’s 51st Annual Poultry Festival held in Rogers. This is a traditional and annual award presented since 1955 by The Poultry Federation to a leader in the poultry industry who has demonstrated tireless support of the poultry industry and the association.
Kevin McDaniel started in the banking industry early on in his career after graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1988, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Ag-Economics. After one year, he decided to shift his career full-time to the poultry industry and joined the staff at Pilgrim’s Pride in Nacogdoches, Texas. He continued his career in poultry and worked for Pilgrim’s Pride in Pittsburg, DeQueen, and El Dorado. He has served in the capacity of live operations service technician, breeder service technician, live operations manager, broiler manager, and complex manager. McDaniel currently serves as vice president of production at O.K. Farms, Inc. He is a member of The Poultry Federation’s Board of Directors and served as secretary for the 2009-2010 year. He will serve as treasurer for the 2010-2011 year. Kevin and his wife Melissa have two daughters: Jordan and Loren.
The Poultry Federation is a 3-state trade organization representing the poultry and egg industries in Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Offices are located in Little Rock, AR, Jefferson City, MO, and Oklahoma City, OK. The purposes of the Federation are to promote and protect all poultry interests relating to production, distribution, merchandising and consumption of poultry and poultry products; to disseminate information relating to the various phases of the poultry industry in order to improve and expand markets; to increase efficiency in production and marketing; to encourage and support research in production and marketing of poultry; and to encourage and support youth programs in poultry work.
