Poultry Fest Events Round-up

Hi Ya’ll!

Just a reminder of our Festival events during our “Weekend Round-up of Fun” which is coming up around the bend!  And don’t forget it’s a western theme so pull out your western wear and let’s have a smokin’ good time!  We’re having a contest for most “authentic western wear” on Friday night!  Even the staff at our host hotel, Embassy Suites, is dressing the part!

Friday, June 11
-Off-site Sporting Events and Ladies’ Luncheon at JQH Center
-Poultry Museum Room opens for the weekend

Friday Evening
7:00 p.m.       Doors open for Scholarship Auction silent bidding – Grand Ballroom of JQH Center
Wait ‘til you see the auction items!  Yee-haw, they’re great!  Take a sneak peak here.
                        Ice Cream Social (Yarnell) until 10:00 p.m.
7:45 p.m.        Award Presentations:  Sales Representative and Industry Leader of the Year 2010
8:00 p.m.       Live Scholarship Auction begins
10:00 p.m.     Casino Night & Dance Party
                        -$20 donation to play; no cash prizes but lots of GREAT items you could win! 
                        -Dance party with NWA’s favorite dance band, Fullhouse.

Saturday, June 12
-Motorcycle Rally leaves Embassy parking lot
-5K Race & Fun Run at Pinnacle Promenade
-Ice Cream Social (Dippin’ Dots) in JQH parking lot
-4-H State Barbecue Contest (come out and show your support for the young-ins)
-Barbecue Contest & Fair –The holsters are put away but the competition is still strong among these cook teams! Come out and cheer on your teams and sample some of the best barbecue you’ll ever place in your mouth!  Judging for skits and booths start at 3:00 p.m.  Cast your vote for People’s Choice Award!
-Meet & Greet with our opening act, Nik & Sam, during the Barbecue Fair starting at 12:00 noon.  You will luv ‘em!
-“Strike,” the Naturals’ mascot will be on-hand with cool stuff to give away.
-You never know who you’ll see wandering around these parts…possibly a giant turkey or a friendly cow??

Saturday Evening
5:30 p.m.       Barbecue Buffet in the Pinnacle Ballroom of Embassy Suites
7:00 p.m.       Doors open for concert – Grand Ballroom of JQH Center
                        Ice Cream Social (Yarnell) until 10:00 p.m.
7:45 p.m.        Barbecue Awards Presentation
                        Opening Act:  Nik & Sam
8:00 p.m.       An Evening with Randy Travis

A Festival ticket is required.  Note:  Your name tag is part of your ticket.  Badge holders and lanyards will be available at the Information Desk located at the main entrance of JQH Center.
