The Poultry Federation’s Allied member, Nutra Blend LLC, kicks off the Annual Scholarship Auction with a live auction donation of a Carnival Cruise for two to the Western Caribbean on the annual Nutra Blend Customer Rewards Cruise. The organization’s silent and live Scholarship Auction is held every year during the Annual Poultry Festival. This year’s auction is scheduled for Friday, June 11 in the Grand Ballroom of the John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Rogers, AR.
The cruise ship will set sail on April 4, 2011 from Miami, FL with ports of call in Nassau Bahamas, Half Moon Cay, and Grand Turk. The ship will return April 9th. The auction donation also includes airfare to Miami with a 2-night stay in Ft. Lauderdale for Saturday and Sunday before the ship sails on Monday. Also included in the package are many “surprise” items, once the passengers are on-board. “We are excited about the opportunity to donate the cruise to this year’s auction and support the Poultry Federation and students,” stated Mike Osborne, President of Nutra Blend, located in Neosho, Missouri. “We know the attendees will be generous in their bidding, because this is such a good cause.”
The auction is an exciting event to attend, to participate in, and to support. Donated items are received from organization members, friends, and various businesses. All proceeds from the auction are applied to The Poultry Federation scholarship fund. This year marks the 15th year of the auction and last year’s auction attendees raised over $38,000. Donors will be recognized at the auction and by printed recognition in the Auction Scholarship brochure. A donor list will also be posted on the Federation’s website.
“Nutra Blend’s generous donation of a cruise is a great example of our members’ support of this event and our industry,” stated Marvin Childers, TPF President. “We appreciate our auction donors’ commitment to education and today’s youth who will be our industry leaders of tomorrow.”
