The Turkey Committee of The Poultry Federation elected new officers for the 2010-2011 year during the Annual Turkey Meeting held September 10-11 in Branson Missouri at Thousand Hills Resort. Randy Jones of Cargill was elected Chairman and Galen Davis of Butterball was elected Vice-Chairman. Outgoing Chairman Doug Pfleifler of Butterball presided over the annual meeting and was recognized for his service. Also recognized and honored for his work in the turkey industry was Mike Briggs, formerly with Cargill and Willowbrook Foods.
Over 250 people attended the 2-day event which was a record breaking number for the meeting. In addition to the business meeting and educational sessions, attendees and their families enjoyed participating in different sporting events such as golf, skeet shoot, and a horseshoe tournament. Tim Alsup of Cargill served as golf chairman and he too reported a record breaking attendance in the outing. (Sports winners are listed below.)
